The lake is approximately 15 miles long and has many islands.  The lake bed is pre-cambrian limestone and helps to keep the water neutral and clean enough for drinking.  Testing is available.  The lake is also known for its healthy loon population, its great fishing for bass, lake trout, whitefish and for its hunting.  There are very few cottages on this lake so privacy is guaranteed.  

 The Gatineau Fish and Game Club

The lake access is provided through the Gatineau Fish and Game Club, situated in Pointe Comfort between Lake Pemichangan and 31 Mile Lake.  The Club was founded over one hundred years ago as a hunting and fishing club but is now a social club for members providing services such as lake access, boat docking and parking facilities, handy men services, laundry and cleaning services, a popular children's summer camp, and the Wednesday and Saturday night dinners during the summer season... a great place to socialize with neighbours.
